Abstract AIMS An Awake Craniotomy is a neuro-surgical procedure where the patient remains awake for all or part of their surgery to allow lesion be maximally resected without damaging healthy brain functioning. annual audit our Patient Satisfaction Survey demonstrated that ‘Receiving Written Information’ was scoring below standard. A new leaflet designed address this and it developed into ‘Video Leaflet’ comprising 10 minute audio-visual production, accessed by QR code. METHOD The team created scripted description experience. script coded into: audio narration, written information video content. areas covered were: consultations with team; pre intra-operative testing; fMRI scanning; hospital environments; follow-up. filmed consent from involved then collated Communications Department. There were several revisions made based on feedback resulting in final product. RESULTS Video Leaflet ready evaluated patients using structured questionnaire. Surveys will compared prior post introduction determine whether ratings have improved. Questionnaire results which are available conference date presented as preliminary findings. CONCLUSION It anticipated further optimise preparation, facilitate informed contribute maximising coping engagement perspective improve experience complex daunting procedure.
